Original Content

SERVICES

Blog Posts / Articles

Danielle not only writes posts for her own blog, Reading Between the Lines, but she is more than happy to provide original posts for other bloggers to post on their sites, as well. Whether it is a book review, a post about a writing or editing topic, or even something totally different (she has strong interests and a solid knowledge base regarding film, cooking, the medical field, and more).  Danielle has even had a book review published in a textbook (Engaging Questions: A Guide to Writing, published by McGraw-Hill, p. 375-377).

Danielle has also studied journalism (coursework at Boston University and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism) and is well versed in article writing. You can find some of her work in the archives of the Daily Free Press or samples can be sent upon request.

DVE editor Lorrie McCann also has experience in original content creation. She has a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Hollins University, is a published author (The Other Side of Gemini), and has written for a number of blogs on various topics.

Copy Writing

Many of the DVE editors, including Danielle, have spent much of  time writing website and product copy for publishers, such as Penguin Group and St. Martin’s Press. Within the team, there is a wealth of experience creating original copy for both consumer-facing and internal systems/products.

We are also very comfortable and familiar with writing back cover blurbs, cover taglines, synopses, and descriptive copy for books, both for self-published authors and for major publishing houses, including Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, and Penguin.

Samples are available upon request.

Reading Group Guides

DVE editors have also created Reading Group guides for major publishing houses (such as the RGG for The Home for Broken Hearts by Rowan Coleman). RGGs generally consist of a short description of or introduction to the book, a number of discussion questions, and a few ideas of ways to incorporate the book into your discussion or book club meeting in fun and unique ways.

Writing Classes

Danielle has written numerous blog posts on writing/editing skills, as well as taught classes on the subject for organizations, such as the Romance Writers of America’s RWU University class on how to “open your book with a bang.” Single classes and a series of classes are both in her wheelhouse, with classes including lessons, examples, and practice activities/assignments. Sample class materials are available upon request.

RATES

Rates for original content vary on a project-by-project basis. After reviewing project details (type of content, word count, turnaround time, etc.) we will provide an official quote and overall assessment of how much work the project needs, how long it will take, and our estimated fee.

If you are interested in receiving a quote, please request a quote HERE, including the following preliminary information. Danielle will then request additional details upon her response.

  • Type of content needed
  • Word count
  • Turnaround time (or deadline, if one exists)
  • Project expectations
  • Fee offer (if desired)
